About Mike & Mollie Donghia

Our Story

We’re Mike and Mollie, parents of 4 wonderful children and college sweethearts who met during a grueling week of cross-country camp. Mike noticed Mollie right away. It took her a little longer—but eventually, she saw something special in him too.

Now, more than a decade later, we’re married with four wonderful kids, navigating the beautiful (and often chaotic) world of family life together.

Mollie is the heart of our home—homeschooling our kids, keeping the family running, and finding joy in the simple things: reading, cooking, and a good cup of coffee.

Mike works in digital marketing, loves playing baseball with our boys, and always has a few side projects going. But more than anything, he’s a husband and dad who values time with his family and meaningful conversations.

We love to have fun and embrace the small moments, but more than that, we’re passionate about building a life filled with purpose. This blog is where we share our journey of strengthening our marriage, raising our kids with intention, and creating a home where love and connection come first.

Why Trust Us?

Marriage, parenting, and family life aren’t just things we write about—they’re at the core of how we live. For nearly 14 years, we’ve had deep, late-night conversations about what makes a strong marriage, how to raise resilient and kind children, and how to build a family culture that reflects our values.

We both hold bachelor’s degrees in the humanities and are lifelong learners in subjects like psychology, habit formation, relationships, childhood education and development, and integrating faith into everyday life. We read, research, and reflect constantly because we believe that building a strong family doesn’t happen by accident—it takes thought, effort, and grace.

Mollie holds a degree in early childhood education, and Mike has self-published a book on living simply. This blog brings together many of our passions and serves as a sister site to This Evergreen Home. While our original blog focuses primarily on minimalism and intentional living, this space is dedicated to the heart of family life—marriage, parenting, and relationships.

We’ve written hundreds of articles on these topics, and our work has been featured on sites like Becoming Minimalist. Our blog is read by hundreds of thousands of people who, like us, want to build strong marriages, raise their children well, and create a home where what truly matters takes priority.

We don’t claim to have all the answers, but we’ve spent years thinking, writing, and learning about the joys and challenges of family life. More importantly, we’re living it every day—right alongside you.
